ICO probe conductivity (gray)
use and application
This probe measures the conductivity/conductivity of the swimming pool water. This indicates how polluted your pool water is.
conductivity / conductivity
Electrical conductivity of water occurs when enough electrons are present in the water to allow an electric current to flow. In pure distilled water there are very few free electrons. Pure water therefore has poor conductivity and high electrical resistance.
Substances that we dissolve in the water can be contaminants, which increases the conductivity.
look after !
Proper monitoring of the total alkanity (TA) is very important for the proper functioning of your pH or the dosing system. An alkalinity that is too low can have major consequences:
- an incorrect redox (chlorine) measurement and also incorrect dosing (with automatic water treatment)
- stains in the pool (deposits of limescale and dirt) that can sometimes only be removed by emptying the pool and treating it with product
what is alkanity?
The TA or total alkanity is the buffering capacity of your pH value. If the alkalinity is not correct, you cannot obtain a stable pH value.
The correct value is between 100 and 200 ppm (=parts per million or mg/l)
You can increase the alkalinity yourself with TACplus or decrease by TAC min.
