Prevent green swimming pool water with HTH pool chlorine. A heavy thunderstorm, buckets of rain, this causes a pH fluctuation and serious dilution of your swimming pool water. This disrupts your pool water chemistry. After all, rain is acidic and sometimes contains a lot of dust, pollen and bacteria from the air. In a normal rain shower this is not a problem if the chlorine, pH, alkalinity and stabilizer are correct.

  • chlorine: 0.8 - 2.5 ppm
  • redox: 600 – 800mV
• the stabilizer cyanuric acid 30 – 70ppm
• the buffering capacity – the alkalinity 80 – 120ppm

These values are not laboratory values, but guide values for a simple measurement of swimming pool water in a private swimming pool.

It goes without saying that we can advise (very) much more detailed values. However, we believe that this is not relevant for private individuals and that this only makes the follow-up more difficult and complicated.

1. take absolutely care a correct pH

We recommend checking the value very carefully with a Pocket pH meter

We regularly get the comment that the pH value of the customer's swimming pool water is correct. However, if we ask further questions, we notice that measurements are being taken with an expired test kit or old test strips.

So do not measure with old test kits or old test strips, they no longer measure correctly after opening after 1 swimming pool season.

2. Do not use stabilized HTH Chlorine

HTH chlorine sticks and HTH chlorine granulate is a disinfection product for swimming pools WITHOUT cyanuric acid.

This cyanuric acid is in the current chlorine tablets 200g or in cheap chlorine granulate. However, time and time again we see that this causes after a long time an excess of stabilizer – cyanuric acid - and this blocks the operation of your chlorine

Below is a very brief summary of how you can make the green swimming pool water beautiful blue, clear and pure again in 5 simple steps with HTH Chlorine.

Step 1 : customize your PH value / acidity to pH 7.3

• if your pH value is too high – basic – add pH minus
• if your pH value is too low – acidic – add pH plus

2nd step : give a chlorine shock with HTH chlorine granulate

• add 150g per 10m³ (10000L) of chlorine powder
• first dissolve the chlorine in a bucket of water and then dose it into your pool

Thirdly : leave your circulation pump CONTINUOUS circulate 24/24 – 7/7

• add chlorine tablets :
  • joint HTH Sticks – 300g tablets into the skimmer basket
  • Or add Chlorine tablets MTF 5 in 1 into the skimmer
• 1 stick/tablet per 40m³/week

4th step : make your pool water back crystal clear of Flovil Shock – a shock flaker

Step 5: rinse use the sand filter or the cartridge filter every 2 days pool robot daily for extra filtration and circulation.
