Properties of the semi-high bed filter

• 100% tested - 10 year warranty on the tank - 2 year warranty on the 6-way valve.

Filling this pool sand filter

This semi-high bed filter but also our others pool sand filters fill with either AFM filter glass or with filter sand. The advantage of a semi-high bed filter is the "raised" sand bed. This ensures better physical filtration of the pool water. The higher this sand bed is, the purer and clearer the pool water will be in the pool.

This means that you can work with different finenesses in this filter. So you can click on the star at the bottom filter pebble use on it fine filter sandd. With AFM filter glass the same method, at the bottom grade III on it grade I AFM Filter glass. The advantage of filter GLASS, is that you have to put less of it in the filter. Moreover, you no longer (or much less) have to replace this filter material.

Calculation example filling AQT semi-high bed filter

Filter with diameter 650mm :

• 250kg sand
  • 50 kg 0.8 – 1.6 mm filter sand
  • 200 kg 0.4 - 0.6 mm filter sand
• or 200kg filter glass
  • 30kg AFM grade III
  • 170 kg AFM grade I

We recommend the following flow rates for the sand filters:

• 500mm  for a flow rate of 10m³/h for swimming pools up to 35m³
• 650mm for a flow rate of 15m³/h for swimming pools up to 55m³
• 760mm for a flow rate of 22m³/h for swimming pools up to 80m³
• 900mm for a flow rate of 30m³/h for swimming pools up to 120m³
