Properties of the standard sand filter

Filling this pool sand filter

This standard sand filter but also our others pool sand filters fill with either AFM filter glass or with filter sand. Our standard sand filter for swimming pool filter installations is the ideal choice price/quality. An even better filter is one with a raised sand bed. This ensures better physical filtration of the pool water. The higher this sand bed is, the purer and clearer the pool water will be in the pool. Strictly speaking, this is certainly not necessary for a private swimming pool. The dirt load in a private swimming pool is very low, which is why a standard filter is certainly a very good choice.

Calculation example filling AQT standard sand filter

Filter with diameter 650mm :

• 180kg sand
  • 180 kg 0.4 - 0.6 mm filter sand
• or 140kg filter glass
  • 140 kg AFM grade I

In a standard sand filter for a private swimming pool it is not necessary to use different filter grades. 1 single filter fineness is sufficient in a standard sand filter for good filtration.

We recommend the following flow rates for the sand filters:

• 500mm for a flow rate of 10m³/h for swimming pools up to 35m³
• 650mm for a flow rate of 15m³/h for swimming pools up to 55m³
• 760mm for a flow rate of 22m³/h for swimming pools up to 80m³
• 950mm for a flow rate of 30m³/h for swimming pools up to 120m³

3 main advantages
